After lunch, her teacher announced that the school was holding a fire drill. When the alarm sounded, Carmen and the other students filed out of the classroom and assembled in the yard outside. As the teachers read out the roll call, the gang of five girls decided that this was a great opportunity to embarrass Carmen in front of the whole school during the fire drill. They moved over to where Carmen was standing, near a sewer drain, and began crowding the poorgirl, getting in her face and nudging her towards the open manhole.
They pushed her and she tripped over and fell head-first down the manhole. When they saw her falling, the girls started giggling and when Carmen’s name was called out, they shouted "She’s down in the sewer!"
All of the other students began laughing. But when the teachers looked down the manhole and saw Carmen’s body lying at the bottom in the muck and the poop, the laughter abruptly stopped. Her head was twisted around at an odd angle and her face was covered in blood. Worse still, she wasn’t moving. There was nothing any of the teachers could do for her. Carmen was dead. When the police arrived and went down into the sewer, they determined that she had broken her neck. Her face had been torn off when she hit the ladder on the way down and her neck snapped when she landed on her head on the concrete at the bottom.
The police hauled Carmen’s body out of the sewer and sent her to the mortuary. Everyone had to stay behind after school while the police questioned all of Carmen’s classmates. The five girlslied to the police, saying they had witnessed Carmen falling down the sewer. The police believed the girls and Carmen Winstead’s death was ruled an accident and the case was closed. Everyone thought that was the last they would hear of Carmen Winstead, but they were wrong.
Months later, Carmen’s classmates began receiving strange e-mails on their MySpaces. The e-mails were titled "They Pushed Her" and claimed that Carmen hadn’t really fallen down the sewer, she had been pushed. The e-mails also warned that the guilty people should own up and take responsibility for their crime. If they didn’t there would be horrible consequences. Most people dismissed the e-mails as a hoax, but others were not so sure.
A few days later, one of the girls who pushed Carmen down the sewer was at home taking a shower, when she heard a strange cackling laugh. It seemed to be coming from the drain. The girl started to freak out and ran out of the bathroom. That night, the girl said goodnight to her mom and went to sleep. Five hours later, her mom was awoken in the middle of the night, by a loudnoise that resounded throughout the house. She ran into her daughter’s room, only to find it empty. There was no trace of the girl. The worried mother called the police and when they arrived, they conducted a search of the area. Eventually, they discovered the girl’s grisly remains.
Her corpse was lying in the sewer, covered in muck and poop. Her neck was broken and her face missing. It had been completely torn off. One by one, all of the girls who pushed Carmen that day were found dead. They had all been killed in exactly the same way and were all found at exactly the same spot. In the sewer at the bottom of the same uncovered manhole where Carmen had met her doom. But the killing didn’t stop there. More and more of Carmen’s former classmates were found dead. It seemed that anyone who didn’t believe that Carmen had been pushed, was eventually found down in the sewer with their necks broken and their faces torn off.
They say that Carmen’s ghost is still on the rampage, hunting down anyone who doesn’t believe herstory. According to the legend, Carmen will get you, whetherit’s from a toilet, a shower, a sink or a drain. When you go to sleep, you’ll wake up in the sewer, in complete darkness, paralyzed, unable to move, hearing cackling laughter all around you. Then, as you scream in horror, Carmen will come and tear your face off.
So be careful who you bully, because you just might find yourself on the receiving end of the curse of Carmen Winstead.
FACT: About two months later, 16-year-old David Gregory read this post and didn't repost it. When he went to take a shower, he heard laughter, started freaking out, and ran to his computer to repost it. He said goodnight to his mom and went to sleep, but five hours later, his mom woke up in the middle of the night from a loud noise and David was gone. A few hours later, the police found him in the sewer, with a broken neck and the skin on his face peeled off.

Ryan Eblen So..I decided I'm tired of the stupid e-mails showing up in my inbox threatening me to forward it or I might die to the point I'm considering just getting a new address. This has happened a lot lately..some from friends, some spam. Today I get on FB and find the same crap. First off..if you believe enough you feel the need to repost..why put something like that on here knowing your FRIENDS and FAMILY will read it. Second..no wait..no second..just knock it the off!! Oh..and also..I DO NOT BELIEVE..hope I don't end up in a sewer with no face. Geez.

I had a pretty interesting experience yesterday while doing the Santa thing. I asked the guy in question If I could share his story and he told me he had no problem and in fact that would be fine. This guy walks into the Ryan's in oak Ridge where we are doing Santa and we fell into conversation. He was home for the holidays because he is currently deployed in Afghanistan. So I do what I normally do and I thank him for his service. I said to him I think there are a lot of people that would agree with me. I support you guys 100% but at this stage of the game I have a little trouble figuring out what you guys are doing there. All we hear about in the news is how the Afghani Government is corrupt, no one wants us there - the American people are not happy about it either. Then I said please understand I back the troops 100 percent but I keep seeing our guys in harms way and there does not seem to be a clear cut picture here. He smiled. He said I don't mind talking to guys like you because you are really trying to figure out what is going on. He went on to explain the current Afghani regime is indeed corrupt but that amazing gains are being made. And he said , If we leave now it would be a total disaster. That it is safer today than ever before. The people are really appreciative of the military effort. That a large part of the problem is that most people there do not know how to read- and have never read the Koran. They have someone read it to them and who ever is doing the reading is telling them things that just are not in their. They are in fact using those who can not read as a tool for recruiting by changing what is actually taught in the Koran. That the Taliban is still controlling these people because they tell them what they want - not what is really there. He went on to say the average Afghani is thankful we are there. Schools are being built lives are being changed. WE go in and build a school and the Taliban say no that's not going to happen and they tear it down but we are making major progress in teaching the people and once they learn a little they suddenly begin to think for themselves,. They rebvuild it and the people are learning. And you also need to understand they have already replaced Osama bin Laden. WE have to stop them from growing again or they will come back stronger and we will be back in there again. We will have no choice. Yes they have a corrupt government but as the nation gets stronger that is getting weaker.I amde a point of asking him if he really thought it was going to change and he said yes- we see it changing already. These people are hungry fo learn and grow. A lor of them are not happy about the corruption and it too is slowly changing. WE are training a police force and a military. A military that is nearly ready to hold it's own and in many places that they already are. An ari froce that is becoming operational on it's own. These people are going to be able to defend themselves and that is in part why it is so crucil we maintin right now and finish the jobe. They will be able to hold their own with out our having to be there. The guys that were growing poppy and other drugs are being taught to grow crops instead and they are beginning to feed their own people. Something they have never done and if the Taliban are denied that drug money then they can't make it work either. That is where the vast amount of their resources come from. It was a startling story that does not seem to jibe with things we hear on the media. Interestingly enough as our conversation wound down I said well you know that's just not what we are hearing. He smiled and said that is no surprise- that is why most of us are open to talk about it while we are on leave. Most people do not here about the progress and how close we really are in turning this whole thing around. Then he smiled and said leaving now would mean the whole thing was a waste- they are actually building things now. I thanked him again and asked him if he minded if I posted this story and he said he would be thankful. - he did not mind. So here it is for you to ponder. It has left me with a great deal of thought. He goes back sometime in January. The thing that struck me is here they are at home and trying to tell people - how they see it and he says none are surprised that the media is so long on the problems and so short on the real progress. So I pass his story on to you for you to make your own judgment. WE did not discuss Pakistan. I felt badly about taking up the short time he had with his family until being redeployed. Quiet the stroy eh? This from a guy on the ground up close with front seats. If I represented something here that is not clear let me know and I will pass on to you what I meant- rather more what he said. This is after all a summary.
